look at me not working
I only worked like 5 hours today. That's pretty nice 'cause I'll work more than that tomorrow and I need to pack. I've been home for 4 hours though and packing has so far eluded me. I've been making CDs for the Trip and generally futzing around reading email and whatnot. Wasting time. I'm a pro. I did our entire itinerary in streets&trips and found the following:
Departing: 10 August, 2002 10:00
Returning: 25 August, 2002 14:00
Driving distance: 2406.3 miles
Total travel time: 15 days, 4 hours, 20 minutes
Driving time: 37 hours, 16 minutes
Fuel Cost: $150.00
I collected mad dvd's from the Cliffs yesterday, which was good. 40 hours on the road is at least 15 movies, plus whatever I watch on those long, hot, boring days in Lodi. Cliff S told me "by the time you get back, you'll be at least half the movie geek I am." I'll be proud to carry that title even though it hasn't really cost me much of anything. That and I'll probably be really good at whatever dreamcast games I end up taking... and I'll beat monkey island and a lot of neo-geo games... one thing's for sure, I'm not going to Cali for what's there. ( : | ) Oh, yeah, I guess I'll be seeing some relatives and stuff. That'll be fine.
In one sense it would be nice to have this whole thing not be happening, but I wish that about a lot of things happening so I suppose given the circumstances this is probably the best thing. I like my family and I'd rather not be home to do nothing but work for 2 weeks.
