A very good question indeed. The answer is that it's expected of me. Also, I agreed to go many months ago and am now somewhat committed.

You would know more about this than I, nowadays. Besides, ACS was always The Enemy when I was working there. My interactions with them gave me the impression that they were blind to what is good in computing. However, there may be some shit you can stir up there as full-time staff. Apply, interview, see what it looks like. Ask Steve about it too, as he knows some of those guys. They're good people, I just don't think they're that great at their jobs.
