new quarter blues
Apr. 3rd, 2002 09:36 pmooh, i feel guilty for not having journaled for a while. Not because I'm sure you can't wait to read it, but because I don't like to forget things. Couple weeks without writing can make you forget. I suppose I'll pick up what I can remember. I'll start recent.
Good bible study, a bit "sparse", and by sparse I mean "me and Graham". That aspect wasn't very cool. But it was still good. There are things that happen when all 7 (8?) of us are there, and there are things that happen with 2. Though I am worried about what might happen when Graham goes off to Bell-ham - these "me and Graham" weeks become "me" weeks and I'll be right on the road to hell... or something. Perhaps some new members are in order. Perhaps.
Back some hours: work. tearing apart and reconstructing a house for my work now, a bit strange because I used to have an office job, suddenly I'm cleaning, demolishing, painting, etc etc etc like I used to do for my uncle. Except now I can weild a crowbar with some skill. I still couldn't drive a 16-penny nail if my life depended on it though. It is nice having work to do, seeing as the utter lack of things to do at the office has made my paychecks pointless. I made more money in the last two days than I did in the previous two weeks. And with my school schedule being what it is (see next) I can continue that pattern at the expense of my grades.
School this quarter is VERY strange.
M 9-10am, 1-3pm (will be 3-5pm)
T 9-10am, 3-8:15pm
W 9-10am
Th9-10am, 3-8:15pm
F X
Blame the new computer science schedule. WTF? TTh 3-6pm? So random. I much perfer day classes for CS stuff. But it's what I got. Now remember that.
Oh, those classes are PHYS 201 (physics), CMPSC 242 (windows programming), MATH 240 (statistics). Tolerable. Haven't done a lick of homework yet. Really, really should.
Last week was cool. I miss it already. GAMES... mmmmm... I don't think I've fully changed mindsets out of that nothing-to-focus-on-but-the-gaming attitude. I don't feel like this school thing is something I'll be doing for the next 3 months, but then it's only the first week. I can be given a little mind break.
As some of you noticed, allergies have removed "voice" from my social repertoire. This is quite annoying. I'm hoping it goes away, and soon, because it's getting difficult to, you know, live. It doesn't hurt yet, but it's quite alarming to talk and have little or nothing happen. Graham, I know how you felt, but at least yours was brief. I don't think I could be enough of an ass to justify this.
I have changed so much since last month, it still amazes me. And that's the point, I mean I said, "change me" and sure enough it happened. I see beauty in odd things and at odd moments. I hear new things in music... little things, really, but I suspect they are symptoms of something larger. I just don't quite know what. I can't wait to find out.
