First, thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday! Being remembered rules.
Secondly, even though they won't read this, thanks to the guys who showed up last Saturday for OktoberLAN. It was truly a remarkable event and I'm proud to have been involved.
Wait, this is my journal, not pharmparties.I have a life that's supposed to be written about here. Well, to be honest it would be nice if pharmparties was my life, but let's not go there tonight.
School is much the same. I'm thinking I'll switch my Engl205 research paper topic from music censorship to digital music. I already read about digital music issues until my eyeballs dry, why not write a damn paper on it and be done? Why do more research I'm not interested in? Now slashdot=schoolwork. Go me.
I offered to buy Justin's duron 950 and motherboard - he upgraded (join the club, there seems to be many new members, what's with that?) and I'm looking at making my own box so I can catch up with Clifton, who's had his own computer since he was like 12. It's a semantics difference - we have 5 computers around here, 2 of them mostly mine, why have my own? - but an important one and I'm not sure why. But bred in me is this "my box" desire. Oh well. Hopefull he'll sell me the gear cheap and I can start pursuing another money pit. Nothing like cars and computers to suck up those funds!
STILL haven't bought car speakers. Was offered the chance to take the cash. Considered it carefully. Still considering. Speakers would be nice. I wish they were an easier gift to choose.
Another computer is on the bench here, and I'm makin $15/hr rebuilding it. Nice work when I can get it.
I'm going to see Eugene Onegin tomorrow. Did I say that before? Probably. I'm a little ambivalent about it. I suspect it will be cooler after it's over than it will be during.
These days I'm mostly tired, and trying to find excuses to do things that are not schoolwork. It can be difficult sometimes when I work so much. Anyway I'm ready for a break or maybe it's just Thursday.
PS I may be the only person who cares, so I will write it. Yesterday Megatokyo's Piro was laid off from his job as an architect and will be doing the strip full-time. I applaud his bravery and audacity. Something tell me his future lies in truly doing what he loves, and in that way I envy him.
