hours on end
Apr. 1st, 2003 05:31 pmI'm very thirsty and it's time for dinner so I guess I'll keep this short.
Went to get my writing center job today. I can't find my SSN card so I have to go back this week and finish my W-4. I don't start work till Monday so now I have the internal dillemma of do I keep looking for full-time work or get in all the screwing off I can while I have the chance? I'm thinking the latter will win, but money has a strong pull.
Need to call Cliff to see if he want to visit the G-Funk in tha B-Ham this week. Otherwise I'm going to Marysville to get in the lanning I missed at my own party on Saturday. Maybe I should see if Jeff wants to come and we can play Battlefield.
But Bellingham would be better.
Mowed the lawn today, in the cold. I hoped to get the sideyard done too but I was tired. Maybe the rain will let up and I can do it tomorrow.
Finished the Last Emperor, all 3.5 hours of it. Whew. It ended up better than I thought it would, though I think it humanizes the PRC a bit more than it should. Worth watching for sure if you can find the time. The fact that it exists makes it worth watching, it is at the very least a seamless spectacle of a movie. The story it's telling is of people living in fabulous luxury and in a culture that knew how to create grandeur. It is done so well that you hardly notice it's a movie. I think that's where my annoyance with the englishness of it came in, cause in Chinese it would've completed the documentary feel.
Site updated. I'm in Google now so my hits have skyrocketed. Kind of a fun feeling.
