hollywood and glamor, heat and drudgery
Jul. 12th, 2003 04:09 pmwow. this day so far has seriously been one of the worst in recent memory. i blame my new employer for half of it.
first they make me show up in lake forest park for training at 10am. this displeased me, as i was under the impression (until friday night) that I could sleep in till noon this morning, which was all I wanted to do by last night anyway.
after four hours of boring training videos i left lfp to find I-5 closed. i spent the next hour and 15 minutes going 20 miles.
after showing up two hours late for my 2pm shift, i was told that, due to some unknown mistake, the timecard i was given showing a 2-10 shift was wrong, and i actually worked 5-9 today. so now i'm back at home for half an hour trying to cool off after being in a >80F car most of the day.
i will work 5-9 shifts every day until wednesday. i have worked 27.5 hours this week despite my continued insistence that i work no more than 20.
AND IF THE WEATHER GETS ANY HOTTER I'M MOVING TO ALASKA
