yeah, it's hot.

got the carpets cleaned yesterday. I've been running around with wet soapy feet and sliding on the kitchen vinyl. Mildly amusing except for the gross residue on my feet now.

Oh, Whitney's back. Welcome home, babe. Feels like a family again, except she's never home. I'm still her brother but not her boyfriend, which I guess puts me a bit lower on the ole totem pole.

Job dillemma update:
Job 1: HEC
My family is taking me to Whistler during the last week of August. Now, as Ryan said, "whistler>all", so there's no way I'm going to stick around here and work for minimum wage while my family cavorts/gallavants/etc up north. Simple time off request, right? Heent. Apparantly my store does inventory that week, so nobody gets time off, period. If I go to Whistler, I give up that job. Which is a fate I'm willing to face, so long as I can find another way to make $400 before Sept. 20th. Any suggestions?

Job 2: EDCC Classroom Support
Time off here is easy to get. The trick is finding my replacement. My position has been reopened and starts the first day of fall quarter. I think I know enough unemployed geeks that would love to have this job that I could find someone to replace me. I thought Jake would be a shoo-in, but though he's the most qualified, he's workin 40s at costco and can't afford the pay cut of coming here to work 20s. His loss. Anyway if you're interested let me know and I'll get you an interview if I think you're qualified.

That's what's on my mind currently... elsewhere...

watched Amadeus last night, found it a religious experience. Listened to the complete "Requiem" afterwards to remind myself that yes, it's real and it's spectacular.
