- If that programming project looks hard, spend a lot of time on it as soon as you can. It will not be easier just because you stayed up late doing it the night before it was due.
- Alfredo sauce in a jar tastes like shit. Stick to the red stuff.
- If you don't have a job, you still need to be regimented about your study time. Doing bits here and there is horribly inefficient.
- At the university level, you don't have 3 weeks to make friends like you did at the comm. coll. Start talking to people as fast as you can, friends in classes are a huge help.
- Sleep as much as you can. Again, you probably don't have a job, so you can afford it cutting into your time. There will be times when running on a sleep surplus can save your ass.
- Bring earplugs and a face mask. These things combined will let you sleep anytime no matter how much your roomate snores or your neighbors moan.
- Don't let your roomates get away with stuff for too long. They'll make it a habit and it'll be harder to break them.
- Think small. College is a big place, and it's easy to feel lonley and scared. Take it one test, assignment and class at a time. Think big during finals, that'll get you to study real hard.
