WINTER BLAST OF 2004 SPECIAL COVERAGE
Jan. 6th, 2004 10:27 amwell, bellingham is covered in ice, has been since last night, the difference now is that the entire northwest from bham to portland is buried in a fine, freezing powder that will be beautiful and treacherous for 24 hours and be gone as quickly as it arrived.
People are snowboarding down Ridgeway slopes.
There's really not that much snow (<8" at best) but it's everywhere, even downtown, and nobody knows how to drive in it, and it hasn't been above freezing since 2003 so nothing melts.
I can't decide whether this should happen more often or if it's infrequency is its beauty.
