Last day in phoenix, or Arizona for that matter. Fortunately we had absolutely nothing to do, which was exactly what I wanted. It finally got good and hot out (78F) so we spent all day out/by/in the pool. I love few things more than wandering into the kitchen in my swimsuit to make a sandwich, then eating out in the sun. Today, life was very good indeed. It was even better when I remembered all you western washington suckers stuck in 55F rain... oh wait, that'll be ME at 2:00pm tomorrow. And it's not that I hate rain, Seattle is like that this time of year, besides we need it. But with the rain will come homework, and deadlines, and work, etc. etc. Spring quarter is treacherous. It starts right after winter, when you least want to do work, and it ends at summer's start, when you least want to be inside studying. However, the weather improves and so do the grades, and it's the home stretch. I have a frustrating lack of available classes, so I may end up with an incredibly hard quarter. Graduating is hard.

Finally got myself a sunburn, took me all week. Feel free to point and laugh, then remember you haven't had a tan in 9 months.

In a week here I bought 4 things, the only one of which I get to keep is the sunglasses I bought because I forgot mine. Somehow I feel like a failure that I didn't buy anything commemerative or distinct. I can't decide if this is a side-effect of consumer culture or if I'm actually disappointed that I didn't get anything Arizona cool for myself. I suppose if I ever crave anything southwest at all, there's always Becky and her parents.

I did take a ton of pictures though, some of which are really swish. I'll whip up a gallery or something when I care more. Or just put them all at sxc.hu.

Or argue about how >100F heat is clearly superior to EVERY other climate. CLEARLY.

We went to Easter service tonight, which was weird. Evenings in holy week are usually reserved for solumn observances, not triumphance. It was ok I guess, even though we barely got in a couple verses of "Christ the Lord is Risen Today" and the rest was praise songs I didn't recognize. Honestly, I don't care how contemporary your service is, if you can't bust out at least a couple complete Easter hymns ON EASTER, your service has failed to engage me.
Also, having the pastor replace original sin with premeditated sin was kind of a turnoff. But two complaints for a wacky nondenomonational easter service ain't bad. It was edifying but really made me miss my own church. I swear, my sister and I are the only people our age who'd rather sing hymns on Sunday than anything else.

We came home to easter dinner with ham and sweet potatoes and cheesecake. How I will miss this food.

It's 12:30 and I have to wake up in 7 hours. I don't want to write about this vacation anymore.
