There are birds here that sing at sunrise, a twee-o twee-o tweeo that I both love and hate. It reminds me of being small and staying up all night playing video games with my friends in my tree fort, but also of staying up having heartbreaking conversations or doing miserable homework assignments.

Tonight was the homework. Thankfully I had a partner in insomnia, and you get used to this sort of thing after a while.

Tomorrow will suck, as will my grade on this assignment, but I've lost all desire to care about either.

Did his hand in your hair feel a lot like a thing you believed in?
Or a bit like a bird stealing bread out from under your nose?

Curse you, Sam Beam, for writing countless lines I couldn't.

This is my way of saying Woman King has been on repeat for the last two days, partially because I've been too busy and exhausted to find something else to listen to, and partially because I haven't gotten tired of it. Which is saying a lot for 6 songs.

My accursed graphics app will have to be mostly rewritten the easy way. I hate teachers that do this. I have no problem with learning the theory behind doing things the hard way, but making us write it doesn't teach me very much more. It's two thousand fucking five, nobody writes pixel manipulation anymore. We invented robust class libraries and object oriented code for a reason, and rewriting library functions ain't it. Assign me work and let me do it with the tools I have so I can make something better. How I long for teachers with industry experience. These academics only know how software was invented and nothing about how it is produced.

It was really nice out today. Shame I only saw half of it. When you have to set your alarm to wake up at 12:30pm, something is wrong.
