don't blink
Oct. 20th, 2007 10:14 pmWas at work till 8:30 on Friday because Verizon are bastards. Then I went out to Kenmore last night to see CS crew and stay up way too late. Do not attempt DDR past 1am.
Today, went to the the matinee showing of SPAMALOT. It was pretty amazing. Though it mostly showed me a) how completely I still have Monty Python and the Holy Grail memorized, and b) how strange Eric Idle must still be to turn the musical theater genre so completely around on itself. If meta is the new irony, this went all the way past meta, back around to sincere. then back to meta. Criticism of the production attacking it as "lazy comedy" is accurate, but I can't bring myself to get mad about it.
It was also extremely surreal to see living, breathing versions of the main characters, after so many years of knowing them from crappy film footage. I never got used to King Arthur dancing.
It's time for bed.
