rain, parades
Mar. 19th, 2008 06:32 pmnow, riding a cold bus home in a freezing spring storm. listening to the rain splat the articulated cover while a block over, in westlake center, hundreds of protesters shiver in the march storm to cry out against 5 years of war in iraq. yesterday, presidential hopeful Barack Obama delivered a startlingly mature speech on the issue of racism in America.
i was going to work late today, as lunch was 2 hours of wonderful dim sum. due to the loud protests just outside my window i was unable to work.
today these pieces of my part in the larger story feel peaceful. perhaps the fierce gray rain of a march storm reminds me that it is still winter, and believing otherwise will only leave you wet and embarrassed. and it is in winter, in the permanent midnight of the freezing dark, that i feel most home.
