Man, for the first time in my adult life I feel like we might still have a few years of republic left before the slow decline of empire. What a moment! The TV networks have several more hours of blathering to do and I can see them having an easy time of it, as it's hard to communicate in anything but euphoric generalizations and disbelief.
In local stuff, the numbers so far on my pet transportation issue are 58/41 pass with many more votes to be counted. I'm not popping any champagne corks right now (unlike its more enthusiastic supporters) but this has me sleeping well and excited about my city and nation!
The idea of waking up tomorrow to an America committed to investing wisely in its future, and on the road to recovering its respect in the world, is too much excellent promise to grasp yet. It's not going to solve anything but to have hope again is so, so remarkable!
