the undertow is strengthening
What's the deal? Huh?! September was a long time ago. I don't want to face death again. Never.
I heard a guy on the radio in those horrible weeks. He was working on tearing apart the remains of the WTC looking for survivors. He didn't want to leave, but had to "go home... and go to funerals." I've never heard a man so broken apart. He was in pieces. His voice was so.. well it's how I feel right now.
My mother was hit even harder - she's female, they take grief different - and she asked me to let her know when the funerals were. Then I realized that I was going to have to go to such a function.
And I couldn't say a thing.
