first in flight

eeep! Just got back from a sneak preview of the Ring, a scary little bastard of a movie. Cliff S called it the scariest movie he's seen since the Shining, which is high praise methinks. Hard to say what I though of it, but given my extremely low tolerance for horror flicks I can say it feels slightly good to be scared witless by something actually scary and not something everyone else is laughing at. It riffs a lot on that overwhelming symbol of civilization, the TV. Way to stick to the roof of your mind, making TVs evil. It'll take a week to shake this one.

Cliff D and Ryan were down last night for quake3, UT2003 and for once, no counterstrike. helluva good times. w00t for mini-lans. It was just what I needed.

Tomorrow - getting Evangelion dvds from Lea sometime. Go Lea. Must try to finish Monday's homework and not watch said series.

Damn. That reminds me.. I've got the original "The Ring" (Japanese with subtitles) around here somewhere on VCD. I need to get around to watching that.

Why yes, yes that is my signed copy (or rather a scan of it). And as much as your offer intrigues me - in fact makes my day week - I'm afraid it stays right here in Seattle. I stood in line for way too long to be letting go of this treasure anytime soon/ever.
But enjoy your show! Maybe they'll do a signing for you too. They're darn nice when you meet 'em.
