quiet as a canyon
Aug. 8th, 2003 11:45 pmOf course, early in the 20th century, a hospital was just a quiet, clean place where the rich went to die. What a blessing to be born in enlightened times!(?)
So my sister is at Swedish recovering from her jaw surgery. I was down there tonight to wish her well. You know it's funny, you tell people "jaw surgery" and they just recoil, as if you said "fingernails on a blackboard" or "maggots." I mean, people have surgery on various parts all the time, shoulders etc. but for some reason the jaw work seems particularly unpleasant. Considering the shape Whitney is in, I can understand why.
But do not worry yourselves, Swedish has an excellent reputation that they more than live up to. Care there is excellent, and every effort was made to keep Whitney comfortable. Surgury apparantly went exceedingly smooth, and she should hopefully be home around noon tomorrow.
I'm getting a new video card soon. The inner hardware geek has been roused. Am also attending CS boot camp next Saturday. A big shout out to Ryan for putting that together.
My last day at HEC is the 24th. My boss took the notice well. Earning potential in September looks pretty decent too. I hope Whistler is worth the headaches it's caused so far.
