The weather outside is terrifying and comforting. To coin a phrase, my snow globe is shaking and the wind currents are howling. To look outside and see what's in my heart roaring through the trees and splattering rain on the windows is at least familiar. In some ways it's like having the world's biggest paintbrush.

I stood outside Communications for 10 minutes today, letting the rain soak into my hair and the wind blow cold on my neck. I had to do something to wake myself up and remind me I was alive. Being cold and wet makes you remember very quickly.

I get the feeling it's going to be a very long week.
We are not sanctified for ourselves. Through those doorways God is opening up ways of fellowship with His Son... If God can accomplish His purposes in this world through a broken heart, then why not thank Him for breaking yours?

Where do you get this stuff? I need a daily Bible study-ish thing I can look at online. That's the only way I can see myself keeping up with it. Any suggestions?

I've been reading My Utmost for almost 2 years now. It's the only one serious enough for me. Every other devotional I looked at, especially the college-aimed ones, were lightweights. Chambers tells it like it is.

I have an old copy of it that I used until recently, when I found myself eating breakfast at my desk and just made reading it online part of the morning routine.
