There are birds here that sing at sunrise, a twee-o twee-o tweeo that I both love and hate. It reminds me of being small and staying up all night playing video games with my friends in my tree fort, but also of staying up having heartbreaking conversations or doing miserable homework assignments.

Tonight was the homework. Thankfully I had a partner in insomnia, and you get used to this sort of thing after a while.

Tomorrow will suck, as will my grade on this assignment, but I've lost all desire to care about either.

I'm getting there too. The damnable birds just sound too cheerful after I've spent the night studying & woken up tired to a bright sunny day.

I've gotten to the point where I don't care over & over again, but this quarter I have to maintain my GPA in order to graduate with honors. It's the only thing that ties me down to study when I'd rather sleep or pretend I still have a social life.

It's almost over!
