Getting these words to appear in a Java applet has damn near been my LIFE for the last 6 hours. It's nice that I'm making progress but discouraging that it's taken this long. I expected to be done at 9pm and look what time it is now. Oh well, only Layout management to do next and then comments tomorrow morning first thing. Then I move on to the C++ nightmare known as CS143 Project 2. My friend Steve (a career programmer) hadn't time to debug my weird file I/O crashbug, but he could at least pinpoint it. Looks like he's a lot better with the Microsoft debugger than I am, 'cause I wrestled with that thing for 2 hours last night and got nowhere.
Sadly, the Kawa IDE debugger for Java is quite lousy (even if you know how to use it) and hasn't helped much, fortunately this project isn't that ambitious, which is why I can complete it in a day.
Which would be nice to say about my recent math test, which I might have been able to complete in a day, but one hour was simply not enough. Things are looking grim in the math dept. Everyone I tell that gives me sideways looks but believe it lady, I'm terrible at college math. Which is bad for a CS major, I'm told. :)
