Just returned from watching the meteor shower for 1.5 hours. Quite a show. Y'all missed a good one. Plenty of these, except, no clouds. It was nothing like a meteor a second, but I wasn't exactly in the darkest remotest field around. It was some cul-de-sac out east with good eastern exposure. Way too bright for my liking but the snohomish valley (where I started) was totally fogged in and impossible to see. It was like peanut butter. A shame, too, because it would've been really good out there, with nothing for miles and miles. Oh well. I feel good about it. Really something you should try once, it'll spoil you on shooting stars for life.
