speaking of relaxing, I've done way too little this thanksgiving break, which is now officially over.
Wednesday:
try (successfully!) to relax
Thursday:
relax. eat. eat. play games. eat.
Friday:
relax. help my friend's band (Rockefeller)(you'll be sick of them soon) start recording their EP. They're entering the EMP battle of the garage bands and had to have the whole thing done by Monday. They had been using Cakewalk, which was anything but its namesake. They had every track overdubbed into one, random flange effects on the drums, distortion everywhere. It was a disaster. I swooped in and brought the knowledge and software to save their collective rear cheeks. It was good stuff.
Saturday:
-random wrong number just called, how weird-
anyway, Saturday was trying to do homework and waiting for Chris to call and say they were ready to finish the EP. He did. All tracks were recorded and I had to set all the levels and clean up the effects. from 7:30 to 11:30 we listened, tweaked, rendered, listened, and tweaked some more. Final render to .wav and plop it in Nero, and we're done. Sounds so simple. Such a headache. We christened it "is teh win." Get it? "Rockfeller - Is Teh Win" Yeah, yeah. I'll take the fall for that one. :) See an example of its usage. All of this would have been better if I had less homework to put off to afford to be gone all weekend. As it stands I'm skipping on 2 assignments I shouldn't have. Looks like I'll be holed up tomorrow night as well.
Sunday:
church. singing. homework. Exciting, huh?
A lot of the relaxing above was spend playing Skies of Arcadia... another buyer. I'm scared. Too many more DC games like this and I'll have no time to see people. I'll be a lonely geek getting a TV tan. That's no good.
Heh... SWEP1 was on TV but the reception was so bad we watched our VHS copy. What a disappointing movie. EP2 will be good, I have wished it...
Oh yeah, Harry Potter is a riot. Reccomended. Monsters, Inc. was even better. Must-see.
