magic smoke
May. 12th, 2004 06:34 pmSo "my" (well, the monitor I was using) spontaneously dropped dead yesterday afternoon, to my surprise and consternation. No indication of trouble, I was typing along and it turned off, and hasn't come back on since. Regardless of the fact that I don't own the monitor, it's my primary monitor up here and I'm stuck using an ugly 17" I borrowed from work until I can go home again and pick up my nice one. And of course this happens during midterms when I can't go home easily because I'm stuck in front of my monitor, programming.
Tuesday's 24 episode is worth mentioning here because it involved a hot female hostage, SWAT teams, Jack finally putting Almeida in his place, and FA/18s blowing up helicopters in the middle of L.A. Suddenly I feel like forgiving the show its many missteps in recent weeks, because things felt much more right in this episode. Not just because the good guys were winning, but because they weren't being fuckups.
I feel strangely fine despite all the academic pressure. Maybe it's a survival instinct.
