Today is Jeremy's last day at WWU after 5+ years. Yesterday we had the office party in the conference room and reminisced. It was pretty cool, though it really hasn't sunk in that he'll be leaving... I and everyone at the office is sore afraid of what will become of the place once he's gone. He won't be able to train our new sysadmin on how things work, so we're really at the mercy of iain and the new hire's cluefulness. Yikes. No, seriously, this bodes ill for our office. If you're a decent sysadmin or know any going to Western, let me know.

Still trying to plan the trip to lake Whatcom next Tuesday, Jessi is far too difficult to get a hold of. >:(

STILL have no idea where I'm living in the fall. Looked at a place on Humboldt last night that committed all the sins of housing that looks decent when you evaluate it but will turn out bad: leaky old house with no central heating - looks fine in summer but you'll be hiding in the refrigerator to get warm come January - and they have a dog. Not that I hate dogs. I just don't want to live with one. Plus they have a guy living in the ATTIC which you get to from a ladder right in the middle of the upstairs hallway. Sheesh. While rent was reasonable the conditions were not. Oh well. Hey God, you could drop Your solution in my lap anytime now, eh?

Tae Shin had like 10 people over here last night for a potluck. He met this guy named Sky that volunteers for international student services on campus. Apparantly he spent the last couple years teaching english in Korea, and it was funny to hear him speak english like an asian guy. He left out articles and confused plurals, spoke with lots of space between words but didn't have any accent of course. I couldn't tell if it was on purpose or not. Either way he was pretty cool so it's not like I lost respect for him or anything. They had so much food it hardly fit on the table, they let me have some and oh my gosh it was heavenly. They had this chicken salad with italian dressing and several other dishes I can't quite describe, but they were all delicious and unique. Nobody walked away hungry from that table. Sky brought some brownies for dessert, but after all the subtly-flavored homemade asian food nobody could stand the richness of the brownies. It was funny to see their reactions. I mean, brownies. How could you go wrong with brownies? Apparantly it's possible.

I remember a time when I could sit in front of this program and have so little to write that I wouldn't even start an entry. Then I'd go play video games and worry about homework. I think I liked that better.

When I got to work today I found everyone playing Quake and eating red vines. Joined that for a while, then Joel picked me up at 2 to go sailing and windsurfing on lake whatcom. I just showered and am going to go dig something yummy out of the fridge. I really can't see my Friday improving any further.
