What a very busy weekend. I felt much better on Saturday after a long, difficult night figting The Virus. I even made it out of town pretty early, of course it helped that I was hardly taking anything. Bought my Giant Ikea Desk, which is very nice. Saw my sister perform in Asa Nisi Masa down on Capitol Hill, which was delightful. Her final performance was last night and you all missed out. Sunday I skipped church to clean out my dresser and pack up the van so I could head north before 1. I was still feeling not much like hauling heavy shit back and forth but it was really the best time to do it, so move stuff I did. After all that, I still had to clean the apartment for today's inspection, so I wiped down the bathroom, then Becky came over to cook and sanitize the stove. And I do mean sanitize. I think I said the word 'inspection' and she heard 'white gloves'. She spent three hours cleaning a moderately dirty stove. Not even she can explain this impulse. I was not about to get between her and the stove so I let her at it, at least until it was past midnight and I had to go to bed. I think I'm thankful but it just turned out so bizarre that I'm not sure.

Either way, the kitchen is cleaner than it's ever been, and apparantly passed inspection so that's one less thing to think about. Today I went to work but really did very little, it's hard to feel like being productive when you've been sick. It's not as if we did anything fun, either. I came home from that to a call from Cameron, who had spent all day making countless trips in an attempt to move into the new place using only his girlfriend's Intrepid. Which is a fairly large car but it's no truck, and Cameron has several trucks worth of stuff. He's moving out of a large 3-bedroom house, so he's used to quite a bit more storage space than our apartment offers. He practically filled our considerable living room in one day. I had 1 load of things to take while I still had the van, so I found places for that stuff and then helped move the couch from his girlfriend's place next door, which wasn't a Herculean task but probably a good 20 minutes of strained back. It's not a real couch per say, more a conjoined recliner type thing, but it's pretty comfortable and definitely better than no couch. Rushed from there to Stuart's to catch Graham's feature to promote his new Chap Book, which was fantastic, just like I expected. I am now home in BW. Tomorrow I will move more, then either take the van back to Lynnwood or give in to my friends' insistent demands and go to movie night instead, or both. The goal is to check out on Thursday, one day before I could possibly get a new roomate. My fear seems to be realized in that I'm moving to a place with no phone or internet, but it beats the heck out of checking out amidst the rush of new kids moving in. I'll play Doom 3 for a while or something.
