summerstorms
Jul. 6th, 2005 12:25 amRain tonight. Real, hard rain. Warmer than other months though. If sweaters and sunglasses are November in Seattle, shorts and umbrellas are June.
My mom gave me a super-nice window fan. It's quiet and has a thermostat, and doesn't make my monitor go wonky when it's on. Thanks, mom!
Got my new dining room table set up. It took 2 hours to clean everything. Amazing what a few years of poor cleaning habits can do to a glass inset table. Amazingly bad things. No such thing as a free table. Fortunately, it was worth it and the table looks great. Now I need some decent chairs. Everything in time.
Had some fascinating discussions this weekend. Growing up is so different at 22 than it is at 18. Everything gets harder as you drill down to what you're made of. Slowly you realize you are neither invincible nor powerless, but a strange, maimed creature with incomprehensible needs and unlimited freedom. Eventually it will all die and you will have routines based on the conclusions you are now seeking. But in this moment, all is murk and potential.
