The 4th happened. Worked on my car a bit, had some amazingly delicious barbecued burgers, spent too much on fireworks, Jacob donated a 600-piece sparkler bomb, went back to the Brockerman's for a campfire but no smores, am home tired and smokey.

The 5th will happen. Will wash my car, put my speakers back in it, check the oil, and head north to work all day. Summer doldrums begin tomorrow.

Wow, from my memory this years bomb proved much bigger than last years. Too bad my stupid camera cut out right as it went off so we are unable to compare.

Yeah, it was definitely bigger. I was also standing closer. I think last years was like 3-400 sparklers? Something like that. This was 570 and nearly 8" across. For comparison, notice the debris to the right of the bomb at the end. Those are 8" fountains.

I set it off at the end of the boat launch on the lake. A bunch of people were out there too, not just us.

What's funny is that they had also made one, but it was maybe 3" across and was a total dud. After they lit that, we just had to show them up. :)
