one drag left
Aug. 24th, 2002 11:13 pmah, the return home. The classic feelings of alternately wishing the trip were over and wishing the trip were longer. Never more poignant when you have to go to work the day after you return. Because no matter how nice being home is, you won't be there for long, oh no, you'll be gone again to some godforsaken flourescent-lit grocery store, finding out exactly how many bags of peas they have in their damn reefer aisles. You'll be tired, sore and wishing you were somewhere else, while now, in somewhere else, a part of you wishes you were in those refirs, making money and getting on with your life.
But not today. Today I sleep soon, wake up early, go to church and drive. I'll see familiar things on the road, finally, I'll finish the AMG Movie and feel a little better. I'm missing my friends now, though sometimes I think I could stay this way, on the road, finding interesting people I'm related to and watching movies and playing lots of video games. There's a wonderful freedom out here, some days I can't wait to get out of the cities to where we're the only ones on the road, totally independent. We have food, water, entertainment, and are going where we please. I only drive every 3 hours, so there's lots of time to write or listen to all those albums I've been ignoring. That's what I'll miss and remember about this trip, I think.
See you soon.
