september is a bittersweet month

shadows are lengthening and the weather is cooling. It's still so beautiful here I can hardly stand to be inside.

Yesterday: worked. Upgraded LAN box - 48x CD-ROM, 17GB RAID 0 SCSI array, improved heatsink fit. Still need to put GF3 in. Today maybe.

Today: did not work. split wood until I couldn't lift the maul. tonight I think it's time to hang. I've got a new car. for a good time, call 742-3991

Tomorrow: Clifton's birthday lanparty allll day and allll night. This will either rock or suck tremendously - he has no intarweb bandwidth. I'm also running the network. Should be interesting.

yes, the other day i lay napping in the sun. when i opened my eyes not even thirty minutes later (about 5ish), the shadows were already nibbling at my feet. so i scooted lower and napped under the shadow. now my nose burns from the odor of burning leaves, but, in a strangely pleasurable way because it signals the arrival of autumn.

yeah athelstan loves fall too, but I'm on the fence about it. my birthday's in October but summer in Seattle is soooo nice. And winter can be a joy, I love snow. I guess I'm not picky enough to have a favorite.

ha, so i can work a complex color enlarger in a completely dark room with no problem, but then it takes me twenty minutes on a computer to move a file from one folder to another because i have no clue what i'm doing. why did i not inherit the computer geek genes from my dad like my brothers did? grrr...

inherit nothing - this stuff is learned. I've been futzing around with these computar thingies since 5th grade, I would expect that I'd have a knack for it by now. I wouldn't even know what button to push on a color enlarger, so don't feel bad. If all anyone knew how to work were computers, who would work the color enlargers?
