if you don't get what you want, you can just go next door!

Payday, yay for fat wallets. UPS was a bust though, they wanted a year commitment. I... don't think so. Saw bornofthesunCliff there too, but he felt a year in that noisy, dark warehouse would make him lose his fragile grip on sanity and drive him to drink. Understandable, it's not for everyone.
So I'm stuck looking to fill out another 20 hours/week doing something profitable. Which puts me better off than I was before, which was looking for full-time work at more than $7.50/hr.

Jake's case didn't work for what I thought it would, so I guess I'll sell it to my dad. I'm still stuck looking for a case that:
  • accepts full-length PCI cards
  • has 4 contiguous 3.5" drive bays with the right spacing
  • has active drive cooling
  • fits and stays cool under the bar
  • costs <$70
The awful irony is that the 2U rackmount the system came out of fills all those requirements except it overheats - the airflow is the wrong direction. Solve that and the problem goes away, but that's hardly trivial.

Yeesh, all that for under $70? Good luck there...A full tower would generally fit that list (except maybe fitting under the bar), but finding even a mid tower in that price range with good cooling is difficult.
