literally just walked in the door from church. I know 'everyone' was at spider-man and I'm sure it was good.

on the premise of doing the "duty that lies nearest" I worked the sound at church tonight for the district youth worship/praise/dinner event. I was mad for awhile that I was missing the movie - [livejournal.com profile] her_mann doesn't just come home every weekend, and I did so want to see that movie - but once I got there and started setting up I could see that things were going to be good tonight. Our worship team is very good when they're in their groove, and they seemed "on" tonight. We had 2 additional members and they'd been practicing for a while. This was fairly exciting. The LB has as strange social er, thing known as "open mic worship". It's where, during the breaks between music sets, people are asked to volunteer and step to the mic and tell everyone about what God's been doing (or not doing) in their lives, ask for prayer, shout amen, etc etc. It's a pretty powerful concept and virtually always a success.
Well I saw an opportunity.
See, after March I didn't say much to my church about it. I got a request in the bulletin, and Gary told the worship team. But I don't think my group - much less the whole district - knew anything and that was fine. They didn't need to expand the sadness of an already 100% sucky situation. Frankly I didn't expect much help from them.
Well it's been a month between me and March so I figured tonight, with the whole district there, would be a good time to just get it out: my life sucks, and here's why. Surprise! I'm not very happy right now! I've been beaten within an inch of my life!
Well I said what I wanted to say, mostly, and felt better about it. It was a little strange to hear "good job" after delivering a speech like that. I mean, I'm sure I sounded good, but good God, for all the reasons to be up there......
Anyway, I forget how nice the people from other churches are. I don't see them very much but I have many friends all over Puget sound. I think I/we have a tendency to feel like I'm/we're alone in the church universe. They were pretty much golden.
So I can happily say that tonight was a success - God is good, and he shows me that through His faithful. But I need to see his faithful more often, and in that context.

Chambers says we will not see the vision until we do the duty. I wonder how many opportunities I have to test that theory.

and I really don't know why. I think it's the word "knif0r". heheh.

In response to "what weapons would you like to see in CS?"

I'd like to see the Ak-47 updated to have a knife attatched to the end of it. You could use the alternate fire button to knif0r teh opposition. I know the ak is already too powerful, but it would be suh-weet.
